Bake sale pre-orders

We are off to a good start. Thank you to those that contributed to our fundraiser so far. I can't even begin to express my gratitude to you. Your generosity and support have meant the world to our family. As we've started to sell some of our baked goods or have received donated items to sell I've noticed a change in Connor. There is once again a sparkle in his eyes. That little glimmer of hope. And for that I will be forever grateful.

I wanted to give everyone an update on our bake sale items. We are currently taking pre-orders and are filling them as soon as we can. Bake sale items will also be available on the days of the garage sale.

Bake sale items:

Homemade beef tamales $20 per dozen or $2 individual
Salsa $5 per pint (courtesy of El Rico's )
Homemade cinnamon rolls $7 for a box of 4 or $2 individual
Caramel corn $3 (approximately 8 cups)

We still need help with items to sell at the garage sale. If you have any items that you no longer need and would be willing to donate to help us raise the money for Connor's insulin pump please let us know. We'd be more than happy to come and pick up your items from you. We will be collecting items until February 21st.

Again thank your for your support. We can't do it without you!

Still want to help but are unable to attend the fundraiser or don't have any items to donate? Become one of Connor's Commandos and make a donation. Simply click on the donate button on the left side of this blog.

  1. Hi Brent and Amy,

My name is Jenae Hart. Donna Mills is in my ward. I was reading your blog and was very touched. My brother was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was 3 years old, I was eight. Living with diabetes is something that my family has faced for almost 17 years. I know that sometimes it feels like you are alone but just remember that you're not. I don't know what kind of information the hospital and Endo have given you but there are all types of camps, seminars, blogs, support groups, parties etc especially for diabetics and their families. All the information can be found at or by calling 602-224-1800. On the website they also have all types of information including class schedules for educating yourself, family members, or friends. I also noticed that your son is getting the Animas Ping. My brother just ordered the same pump. If your son ever needs to talk to someone who has already gone through this stage of diabetes my brother would be willing. I also know a family who is very into all things JDRF. They have a son who is around 14 years old who was diagnosed around the same age as your son. I can get you their information as well. Please know that you are in my families prayers as your family faces this tough time. I know it may seem like there is an infinite amount that you have to learn and that there is no way it can be done. But I do promise you it gets easier as time goes on. The beginning is always the hardest part. Soon everything you have to remind yourself to look for will become second nature for not only you but the rest of your family as well. The saving grace for my family was the JDRF. They helped my brother accept his condition and not be ashamed of what he had to do. If you have any questions please feel free to email me and I can help you as much as I can. My email address is .

Please know your family is in our prayers.
